Here's a group photo from the night a week ago when we met up at Kona Grill for a drink and some chatting.
This was one of the hangouts out on the deck with the gang:
My room at the Eagen house has some personal touches now. I unloaded all of my stuff - the one tote I brought and a few bags. My clothes are currently on a bookshelf. I was offered a dresser, but I suggested not moving it up until I figure out where I am going to work at. Not all hashed out yet. Nancy had picked up a "J" for me, though, which you can see on my shelf.
I put up some of my picture frames.
Even updated some of my photos - like this one of my family.
A few pictures on the desk. Sarah still has a bunch of stuff stored in the desk, but that is no problem for me. :-)
Here's my bed. Serving me well so far. Been living in Omaha officially now for more than one week. Now is my down time, a little break while in transition, but as you can imagine I'm keeping busy, more or less.
I was home one day with the puppies, while everyone else was at work. This was my one really lazy day just laying around and taking naps. My sinuses were adjusting to the climate shift, so a day on the couch was good for me. Here you can see Lily and Macy napping near my feet on the couch.
I spent one afternoon with Cassie lounging at the pool of her apartment complex. I look ridiculous. haha
I sort of started a little dinner party at the house Wednesday evening inviting over Matt and Nicole with Sebastian. Kyle also invited over a few other people. We had a little salad bar that the parents helped us with. A real little dinner party, which was fun. I failed to take a group photo of all of us, but here's one of the salad bar.
Nancy was having a good time holding little Sebastian while the rest of us ate and chatted.
Sarah wasn't feeling the greatest the net day and asked if I would come over to the house she was supposed to babysit at. I ended up hanging with Molly here, while Sarah went in for a doctor appointment. Molly was fun, and I told her mom I'd be happy to help out another time if she needed someone.
She was all cute and crawled into this little container. Reminded me of a photo my Mom has of me in a clothes basket.
I enjoy going on evening walks around the neighborhood out here. I've been doing it every now and then after dinner/supper. (Sorry, I still say dinner, but I know that confuses some who call it supper. haha)
We hung out in the backyard of the house one afternoon, lounging around the puppy pool. Lily here can doggy paddle, but she really wasn't feeling like swimming.
We made breakfast for dinner with some of the gang before heading out for a little dancing Friday night. I had the idea for "brinner", and it turned out well. Options included cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, and juice. Here's my plate. Yum.
Some of my girls - Sarah, Cassie, Jessie, and Karena. This photo was taken on the balcony outside Cassie and Jessie's apartment before we headed to the Old Market.
This was the whole group including some of the guys. We had fun. I enjoy a little dancing and fun with my friends.
Woke up Saturday morning to find Nancy had made some egg bakes. She actually made one without egg, too, as she wasn't sure if I ate eggs or not. Watched some Disney movies at the house with Sarah and Cassie, which was pretty chill. Good ole Disney movies. It's always fun to sing along.
Nancy and I went to church Sunday morning, and then she made us some thin pancakes afterwards.
Mom, Aunt Paula, and Becca came up then on Sunday for a little shopping. This was a fun shopping trip, and I scored some deals. I told myself I would not spend more than $10 on any one piece of clothing. The only thing that was more was a black blazer for $14 I want to wear for my upcoming interviews in person. We had a good time and enjoyed a little Carlos O Kelly's Mexican food before they headed back to Newman Grove.
Grilling at the house then Sunday night. Here's the vegeterian side: egg plant and boca burgers. haha Joe has been all meticulous making sure my veggies don't touch the meat, which is way more precise than necessary for me. He had fun making some eggplant, which was good. I've never had it grilled before.
Then, I went with Cassie and Kyle to watch some fireworks in town. One of the churches down the street put on a little show Sunday night. We sat on a blanket and enjoyed the little show before heading back home.
I did some Insanity Friday and Saturday, which felt good. My body finally finished adjusting to the climate shift I think. My sinuses haven't been so annoying. Monday morning I tried out a little Jillian Michaels workout I had read in a magazine. It was good to do a different workout, sweat it up, and get my day started off right.
I ran to a Goodwill and found some tops. I found skirts the day before and now needed some shirts. Had went to the Goodwill just down the street Saturday and decided to go peruse another one. Headed to 108th St. and Blondo. Worked out well. Organized some of my stuff and got a few things done around the house now this afternoon. Time for another little workout I think, then it's girls' night. We are heading to Carlos O Kelly's (yep, I'm going to go there two days in a row. haha) for dinner. Then, we are going to Council Bluffs for an outdoor play. Karena's friend Holly has a part in it. I've hung out with her before and gone to a show in the Omaha area. Should be fun.
This first week living in Omaha has gone so quickly. What do I do with all my time? Apparently fall behind on my blog. Oh well, once a week is probably good enough if even that for now. Hope you all have a nice week. 4th of July is right around the corner.
